What’s in my Disney Park Bag?

1 Day to Go

EEEEEEEEEEPPPP. As of today it is officially one day until Walt Disney World. So today’s post is all about what I take with me to the parks. I personally love watching “What’s in my bag” videos or reading blog posts about the subject – probably because if I’m being honest I have a tendency to be politely nosy. So since I enjoy reading about them I thought I would share my own version.

The Bag Itself

This trip I am actually bringing two bags with me – my trusty Perry the Platypus rucksack I got in Walt Disney World back in 2013 and my Mickey Mouse black rucksack from Primark. There are two reasons for this: 1) I am a create of habit and so know that my Perry bag fits everything I need and will withstand the whole trip, plus it generally gets a lot of compliments and 2) because my Mickey Mouse rucksack is from Primark I’m scared it’ll give out half way through our holiday and I don’t want to be left bagless.

PerryBag

To jazz my plain black rucksack up a little I’ve added some pins to the front pouch – I also purchased some locking backs so that none of them will go walkabouts whilst I run around WDW. All of the pins are from some of my favourite small shops which you can read all about in my previous post (click me!). I also had to do a little DIY, with some help from my mother, to put two little elasticated mesh pouches onto the sides of the rucksack – this is so I can easily store a bottle of water to keep hydrated and so I can slot my phone/sunglasses away easily when not needed/when we get on a ride.

Electrical Items

So firstly I have my phone, which is a newer item in my life – it’s the iPhone X and I’m so excited to make use of the portrait mode all throughout the parks. I also have a longer lightening charging cable and I plan to purchase a Fuelrod when we get out to the parks. I also have my G7X camera (promise I got it before I realised it was the tool of choice for almost all volggers), two spare batteries, a spare memory card, a flexi tripod and a case to keep in all in. So I won’t lie for the most part I use my phone to take videos and photos as it’s generally just easier – however iPhones tend to suffer a little in low light, whereas the G7X holds it’s own pretty well. This time round I want to film little clips and edit them together to make a memory video for me and my family to look back on over the years – kind of like a long vlog but for personal use only. A new addition this year is an electric fan (that I purchased from Amazon and is amazing) to help cool off in the Florida heat.

Fundamentals Pouch

So I don’t know if anyone else out there will understand this, but I like to be prepared for everything, and this little pouch helps me feel like I can do just that. It’s filled with things I probably won’t touch but definitely don’t want to be without and includes: hypoallergenic plasters (I’m allergic to Elastoplast), blister plasters, ibuprofen, a headache stick, migraine medication, lip balm, sun cream, chewing gum, dental floss, body glide (to help reduce chafing), hair clips/bobbles & wet wipes.

Money & Miscellaneous

Although I have a gorgeous Cath Kidston Mickey Mouse purse it’s unfortunately too big to carry around the parks, plus I don’t need half the stuff in it. So instead I’m going to carry around this little Mickey card holder from the Disney Store – a place to keep my license, credit card and my Revolut card. The revolut card is something new to me and I’m thinking I’ll write a little blog post all about it when I get back from my trip. I also like to bring just a little bit of cash with me around the parks in case we run into somewhere that doesn’t accept Magicbands/cards so I have this little Tinkerbelle coin purse so that I can keep hold of any notes/spare change. (It should be noted that I will likely charge items to my Magicband when in the parks if they are small charges and then put larger purchases on my credit card)

Money&Miscellaneous

Also in my bag I’ll keep my sunglasses, my autograph book & sharpies (I plan to buy a new autograph book once we arrive at WDW and sharpies are best/easiest for characters to sign with), my pin lanyard ready for trading, a poncho, flip flops (to save my shoes when the storms arrive) and almost most importantly large ziplock bags. For the most part I keep everything inside a ziplock bag; so my electrical items go in one, my autograph book & sharpies in another, I have one for my poncho, one for miscellaneous items and one for my ears. This is so that whenever I go on a water-ride or we get caught in a Florida storm (which is 99% likely to happen at least once a day) or I take my poncho off after said storm nothing in my bag gets wet and ruined. Such a simple, easy but life-saving tip!

And that’s that! That is everything I carry in my park bag. Am I missing something important? What do you like to bring with you on park days? Let me know in the comments below!

Love Jana xox
