Here was our basic itinerary for the day:

  • Afternoon: Epcot for a lunch reservation at Via Napoli
  • Evening Park: Magic Kingdom For extra magic hours
  • Fastpasses: Spaceship Earth (9:55-10:55), Frozen (10:55-11:55), Living With The Land (13:05-14:05)

Day 9 – Wednesday 12th September 2018

After our eventful, late evening at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party we had a lie in and then a relaxing morning before heading off to Epcot for our 11:55am lunch reservation at Via Napoli. We had planned to arrive at Epcot for 10:45am to make our first fastpass however we ended up running a little behind schedule and so didn’t make it into the park until closer to 11:30am. We ventured into the World Showcase via Mexico to pick up our Ziplock suitcases and card from the Mexican pavilion and then had a lovely ride on Frozen Ever After. We made our way over to Italy for our reservation and got seated around 12:05pm. As a family we are a big fan of Pizza and Via Napoli was one of the few reservations we made on our last trip so we decided it would be the perfect meal after MNSSHP. We had two servers during our meal – one young man who was partaking in the Italian CRP (a program I would greatly like to be a part of someday) and currently doing his server training. So it was lovely to have a chat with him about life out in Orlando in comparison to back home in Rome. All three of us unsurprisingly ordered pizzas (I had an individual piccante pizza) which were so yummy that I forgot to take a picture before diving in. Following our pizzas we all had dessert too since it was included in the dining plan – I had the “torta caprese” which was a nice change to the typical desserts offered on Disney menus.

After our lunch in Via Napoli we continued round the World Showcase exploring the pavilions, collecting press pennies and getting our cards/stickers for our suitcase. Two snacks that were on my bucket list to try were the macaron ice cream sandwich and the brioche ice cream sandwich. Despite just having lunch I decided on both of them (mostly as I was panicking I wouldn’t get the chance to try them and couldn’t decide between the two). Let me tell you the brioche is much bigger than any pictures you have seen. Out of the two the macron was my favourite, I enjoyed the brioche but the warm brioche with freezing ice cream was a slightly strange combination. After my sweet treats and a sit down in France we continued through the World Showcase and then over to the Seas to ride Nemo and take some pictures at the toothpaste wall. After pictures we headed over to MouseGear to do some shopping before stopping by to thank the Phoenicians on our way back to the hotel.

Exploring Epcot

Despite my love for planning we actually didn’t have much planned for our evening in Magic Kingdom. We arrived into the park around 7:30pm and headed over to Buzz which is managed to get us a fastpass for and ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls I’m pleased to announce that yes I finally managed it this trip… GALACTIC HERO! I was so chuffed as it was right down to the wire, but I saw the magic 999999 across my score in the final room with Zurg. I took my photo and made sure to collect my (smaller than two years ago) sticker. After buzz we headed back to Mainstreet to see how busy Casey’s was – it wasn’t too bad so we decided on having dinner there. My mum joined the queue to order whilst my sister and I went in search of seats. For those who have never visited Casey’s most of the seating is outdoors but there are around 5 tables (I think) indoors. It was another beautiful but hot evening in Florida so ideally we wanted something inside – alas it was not to be, but we found a table outside and I left my sister there to mind our stuff while I went to explain to mum were we were. On my way back however I noticed a couple clearing they’re table – result. I swooped in and sat down then messaged my sister to say come find me – ahh the sweet breeze of aircon. For dinner I opted to have the corn dog nuggets & fries and a mint julep lemonade – both of which were very tasty and I would highly recommend. After dinner we headed over to Pirates which I had managed to get us a fastpass for and then we went on Haunted Mansion.

Galactic Hero & Casey's

As we exited Haunted Mansion we could see the Tangled lantern photo and more importantly that the line for it actually wasn’t too bad – maybe around 20 minutes. Originally we were going to go back to the hub and watch Happily Ever After however we decided we would get our lantern photos (as it was very high on my bucket list) and watch the fireworks over top of Rapunzel’s tower. Still magical and emotional despite not seeing the projections – would highly recommend if you’re looking for a less busy viewing of just the fireworks but be prepared to look around you because they literally go off from everywhere. Once Happily Ever After was over we took some photos in the Tangled toilets (not the greatest lighting) and that pretty much took us up to the start of extra magic hours. We headed over to do big thunder mountain first, then pirates again, then over to Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain. For our final ride of the night we decided on Buzz as mum really wanted to become a galactic hero. So my sister had a sit down while mum and I went off to help defend the galaxy. With a bit of help from me (steering the cart and pointing out the key targets) mum made it all the way to 963200 so close. Normally I would never ask to stay on a ride, I’d get off and walk through the queue again but I knew we were coming to the end of the night so I politely (key word here) asked the lovely cast member at the exit if we could stay on because my mum had almost made galactic hero. She was so excited for her and said of course – they guys on the loading side laughed as we came back around but asked if we’d almost made galactic hero so I guess it’s not that uncommon. After a good warm up game mum fought tooth and nail right until the final room where she did it, she too became a galactic hero! I was so excited for her it was basically all we chatted about the entire way down Mainstreet and to the trams.

Tangled Lanterns

After an exciting evening we headed back to the hotel for some well deserved rest before an early start the next day. Tomorrow we head to the Bon Voyage Breakfast with Punzie & co so make sure you stay tuned to hear all about that one. Until next time…

  4. Using CBD sweets is an easy task. All you need to do is to savour and eat these delicious products to get your daily dose. You can eat these back to back, but pay attention to the dosage. We know that the flavour of our CBD sweets can be quite enticing, but you may want to save your sweets and eat only the minimum effective dose. Before purchasing these items, check the amount of total CBD mg in your selected package and the CBD mg amount of individual pieces. This will allow you to easily explore various dosages and find out how your body responds.
