Day 3 – Orlando Trip Report, September 2018

Trip Report Title

Here was our basic itinerary for the day:

Morning Park: Magic Kingdom with breakfast at Be Our Guest
Fastpasses: Big Thunder Mountain (10:20-11:20), Space Mountain (11:25-12:25) & 7 Dwarfs Mine Train (12:25-13:25)
Evening: Shopping in Disney Springs

Day 3 – Thursday 6th September 2018

Today is a very big day Pascal… We left our hotel around 7:10am and made it to the parking lot at Magic Kingdom for 7:20am. Today we had a reservation for breakfast in the Beast’s Castle at 8:05am – this was our first time eating at Be Our Guest so we were all rather excited. We made it onto a relatively empty Main Street around 7:45am and my one regret is not getting any pictures on main street – I think we were just so invested in getting to our reservation. To get to Be Our Guest you walk along the little path at the left of the castle into Fantasyland. Walking through an almost empty Magic Kingdom is a very special feeling – one to definitely add to your bucketlist.

Once you arrive at the restaurant you get to check in and then head into the Beast’s castle. Here’s a top tip: even though you are given a reservation time due to the way Be Our Guest works I don’t think they’re strict on the timings. The interior of Be Our Guest is stunning and it’s such a magical system for how your order is taken. We chose to sit in the ballroom and I opted for the cronut which was yummy and definitely hit the spot ahead of our park day. We also used a snack credit to get a “Masters Cupcake” so we could say we’d tried the grey stuff. We finished up our meal around 8:45am and then went for a walk around the restaurant to see all of the other rooms and then left just before 9am.

After our yummy breakfast we went straight to Peter Pan’s Flight, then on It’s A Small World, explored the Tangled Toilets area, went on Haunted Mansion and then headed over for our Big Thunder Mountain fastpass, before heading on to Pirates of the Caribbean. This holiday we spent a lot of time exploring the parks and taking it easy – so it gave me a chance to grab some photos with a new perspective. It was also about trying new things and doing stuff we’d never done before so we then headed over to watch the Hall of Presidents and then to watch the Enchanted Tikki Room – both of which were great first time experiences and things I would probably do again.

By this stage it was close to 11:30am and so our second fastpass was now active, however unfortunately Space Mountain was down so we jumped on the People Mover and then took some pictures at the Purple Wall. We used our multiple experience fastpass from SM to ride Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin – unfortunately no Galactic Hero this time round, then we headed off for our last fastpass 7DMT (fun but short). After this we headed to Colombia Harbour House to have a sit down & recharge, we also used a QS credit and split it between the three of us as a refresher meal/snack. We then headed out to the area near where the Muppets show is (Great Moments in History) to watch Festival Of Fantasy – it was a dream.

After FOF we headed back to the hotel for a quick recharge before my mum and sister headed off to Universal so my sister could spend some time in the Harry Potter areas and I headed off to Disney Springs to do some shopping. I took the boat from Port Orleans French Quarter over to springs which was lovely and relaxing and then hit up almost every shop in Disney Springs spending my hard earned savings along the way. After some retail therapy I got my first taste of Disney Buses and hopped on a bus from Disney Springs to the Boardwalk to explore that area and get some ice cream from Ample Hills Creamery – delicious. Then I wandered through international gateway into Epcot and got on a bus back to my resort. Just as I arrived at the resort my mum and sister text to say they were leaving Universal and asked if I wanted to meet them in Springs for dinner. So I dropped my shopping off at the room and then jumped back on the boat to Springs. We ate at Blaze Pizza and oh my goodness it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life, period. After a quick look in World of Disney and a very busy day we headed back to the resort ready for bed and full of excitement for the next day.
