Here was our basic itinerary for the day:
- Morning: chill and pack
- Afternoon Park: Epcot for a lunch reservation at Teppan Edo @ 13:30
- Evening Park: Magic Kingdom for Happily Ever After
- Fastpasses: Big Thunder Mountain (17:30-18:30), Space Mountain (18:35-19:35) & Buzz (19:35-20:35)
Day 12 – Saturday 15th September 2018
This morning we had a chilled snack breakfast in our hotel (pastries and muffins that were snack credits) followed by packing up our things as tomorrow we were moving over to Universal. Today we had a reservation for lunch in Teppan Edo booked for 13:30. Teppan Edo was a restaurant we had dined at on our last trip and it was one of my mums favourites so we decided to rebook it for this trip too. Teppan Edo is one of the restaurants in the Japan pavilion at Epcot which is family style hibachi dining – hibachi being a hot plate and family style meaning that you dine with other people. We were seated next to a couple and their nephew who were originally from Boston but currently live in Orlando. We had a lovely discussion about their favourite places to eat in WDW and about how Northern Ireland isn’t really that scary a place. I opted for the chicken option but asked to have a kids portion as you get a lot of food – noodles, salad, rice, vegetables and option (chicken, steak, shrimp etc). For dessert I had the mango moose cake which was such a nice refresher after the meal. After our meal we decided we would head to Germany to grab a beer, sit by World Showcase Lagoon and people watch. A perfect example of a lovely chilled way to spend time in the parks.
After Epcot we headed back to the hotel to finish off some packing before heading out to Magic Kingdom around 4:30ish. We headed to Frontierland to Country Bear Jamboree for the first time – it was interesting experience to say the least, then to our BTM fastpass, then onto pirates before heading over to Tomorrowland for our Space Mountain fastpass. We then took a quick spin on the people mover before using our final fastpass on Buzz (no galactic hero this time round). Magic Kingdom was quite busy this evening so we decided we would grab an ice cream from The Plaza Ice Cream Parlour and another mint julep from Casey’s and grab our spot for Happily Ever After. We spent the time playing Disney Dobble before enjoying our last time watching Happily Ever After and our first time watching Once Upon A Time. We took some time to wander through the shops on Main Street before heading back to the hotel for the evening. We decided we were a little peckish so stopped by our hotel food court for something to eat – I got a slice of pizza (which was huge) and a side of “fries”.
