April Favourites

Since it’s the start of a new month I thought it would be fun to do a different style post. I love reading and watching people’s monthly favourites, honestly becasue I’m a little nosy, but also because you can find some real gems. It’s how I found out about benefit brow products. So today we’re going to give it a go.

TV & Movies

Game Of Thrones

So let’s talk about the big TV return of April: Game Of Thrones. I have been so excited for the return of this show. Some of you may not know that I live in Northern Ireland and that the beginning of the first ever GOT episode was filmed in the forest park where I walk my dog! Way back in 2010 my mum and aunt stumbled across a very snowy Game Of Thrones set and got told all about it. When April 2011 rolled around we had it set to record and watch but only managed to get around 10 minutes in before deciding it was too violent for us. Fast forward a few years and I get recommended to watch it, hesitantly I agree and end up hooked – I even watched all of season 2 in one day. I’ve watched along since Season 4 and I’m so excited to see how it all ends.

So I had never heard of this movie and then I got an email from Netflix about it. I added it to my watchlist like I do with tonnes of things but then I started seeing everyone rave about it. I watched it not knowing what to expect and I loved it – potentially because I am low-key obsessed Gina Rodriguez. Also potentially because I’m currently going through a tough break up of my own which is the theme of the movie. Either way I’d highly recommend.

Brooklyn Nine Nine

On a lighter note, this month I’ve also really gotten in Brooklyn Nine Nine. So much so I’ve finished all five series on Netflix and I’m currently catching up on the newest season. It’s a real feel good comedy that is interesting and has some great character development. I’m so glad it ended up uncancelled as such.

Someone You Loved – Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi’s new song is amazing. There’s no surprise it sent as long as it did at number one. I pretty much love everything about the song from the lyrics to the music. On repeat for the next while.

Before He Cheats – Carrie Underwood

Not break up related in the slightest. This is just a good old school tune that popped up on my playlist at the beginning of the month and has stayed on it ever since. I even added it to our coaching playlist for work and the other coaches have been loving it.

Life Is A Highway – Rascal Flatts

I watched Cars recently (a personal fav, no judgment please) and one of my favourite aspects of the movie is the soundtrack. In particular Life Is A Highway – It’s always nice to have a little Disney magic added into your day right?

Disney Magic Kingdoms Game

So I’ve been playing this game daily since last summer but I feel like recently I’ve gotten into a real groove with it. I understand how the events and tower challenges work and know that I don’t need to kill myself trying to finish everything. It’s okay to just take my time and enjoy the game.

Mini Egg Easter Nests

Melted chocolate + shredded wheat + mini eggs… I mean do I need to say much more? If you haven’t tried an Easter nest before you need to add it to your to-do list. They’re so simple and quick to make it’s just a shame that they disappear so fast.

Pineapple Whip Melt Bar from The Tiki Candle Company

Back in October I purchased some candles and wax melts from The Tiki Candle Company. At the time I was mostly looking at Christmas scents but also purchased a few additional scents to try too. Now that it’s into spring I decided I would try out the Pineapple Whip scent. It is so yummy smelling and fills me with happy Disney memories when I have it burning. 10/10 would recommend the company for their scents (so much so I’ve actually recently ordered some more) so I’ll pop a link to them here.

So that’s a roundup of some of my favourite things from the month of April. I’m looking forward to May and hoping it’s a slightly better month if I’m being fully honest. Here’s to keeping busy, healthy and happy. Until next time…
