Here was our basic itinerary for the day:
- Morning: chill out, possibly head to a water park or to universal
- Evening Park: Magic Kingdom
- Fastpasses: Meet Tinkerbelle (16:30-17:30), Meet Rapunzel & Tiana (18:00-19:00), Meet Ariel (19:10-20:10)
Day 7 – Monday 10th September 2018
The dreaded but wonderful halfway point of a Disney holiday. Dreaded because you start to think about the end but wonderful because there’s still so much excitement to go. At this point in our trip we were starting to flag a little as it was A LOT hotter than we had anticipated – we expected it to be warm but this was next level, I am usually a very cold person so I’m a big fan of the heat however even I will admit it was a little warm. We decided to have a lie in and use a quick service credit on breakfast in our hotel. The nice thing about this was that we could swap our drink for a snack as you get the refillable mugs included in the Disney dining plan. I opted for a kids large Mickey waffle with sausages and ended up grabbing a drink as I fancied an orange juice. After eating we headed back to the hotel room to chill for a while and allow our food to digest so I took some time back up some photos and organise my purchases to date. After our food had digested my mum and I decided we would head to Typhoon Lagoon to cool off whilst my sister chilled in our room.
Having suitably chilled we headed to Magic Kingdom for the evening. We arrived in the park around 4:45pm and headed straight to our fast pass to meet Tinkerbelle. I was decked out in my Tink gear including light up ears from Chasing Childhood and my Cath Kidston skirt – Tink was so happy to see so much magic (and so much of herself) on a person she could barely stand still and it made for an excellent character meet. After meeting Tink we headed to meet Rapunzel & Tiana. Whilst in the queue to meet my favourite princess I managed to swap our meet Ariel fastpass for an earlier time slot so after chatting about beignets and floating lanterns we headed to Fantasyland to ride Under the Sea with Ariel and then stop by and meet the fishy princess. Next we headed to Tomorrowland for another ride on Buzz (clearly a family favourite – still no galactic hero just yet) before heading over to another firm favourite Pecos Bill for a quick service diner. I got the beef nachos and added some extras from the toppings bar – yum!
After dinner we headed over to the hub to get our spot for happily ever after, it was quite busy but we found a spot with a clear enough view of the castle. I honestly have no words for how amazing happily ever after was (despite the fact we didn’t get to see Tink fly). I remember how sad I felt when they announced wishes was ending. I also remember watching Tim Tracker’s video of the first Happily Ever After and being sad because it didn’t make me feel the same way Wishes did. However, seeing it in Disney World in person was a completely different feeling all together and yes I did cry. After Happily Ever After we did some mooching & shopping down main street which lead to ticking off another bucket list item which was to see the Kiss Goodnight (9:30pm).
Here’s where we hit our final hurdle of the day – the mass exit from Magic Kingdom. Every method of getting to the Transportation & Ticket Centre was crazy busy so we opted to walk to the contemporary (partially as I wanted to buy some mugs I’d only seen in the contemporary gift shops and partially because this walk was also on my “boring bucketlist”) and then get the resort monorail from there. We ended up getting back to the hotel room around 11ish after a wonderful night in the Kingdom. Day 8 includes a yummy reservation and a very magical moment so stay tuned for that one, until then…
